Our approach
Initially working with students in their homes, we build confidence and trust, supporting them to take small, supported steps to engage and interact with the outside world.
Using supportive approaches such as motivational interviewing, students progress from their home to exploring their local neighbourhood.
We harness the health benefits of nature through interventions such as wilderness therapy, therapeutic walks and time with therapy dogs.
Places of interest are explored to encourage personal development and to establish new hobbies and career paths.
Students can visit our school/college sites (at quiet time) to overcome concerns they may have about working towards attending school/college with their peers.

Many of our students have needs relating to their physical health or appearance. Others are experiencing mental health difficulties such as social anxiety, depression, or PTSD. We take the time to understand what is going on for each person, complete comprehensive holistic assessments, and create bespoke plans.
We work collaboratively with students, parents/carers and specialist health services and organisations (dentists, early intervention, CAMHS, Healthy Young Minds, psychosis teams etc.) to meet students’ health needs and promote their education and wellbeing.
Through compassion, perseverance, skill, and working with students, their families, health services and support agencies, REACH, has achieved some magnificent results and positive destinations:
- Reintegration into mainstream school/college,
- Gaining places in mainstream colleges
- Securing university places
- Securing passes in GCSE subjects and vocational qualifications
- Increased confidence and ability to live fulfilling, independent lives.
