Jason Steele, CEO and Founder of Raise, successfully facilitates the Mindfulness in Schools Project (MiSP) at Raise Education & Wellbeing School. Jason’s dedicated work and expertise in Mindfulness led to an invitation to speak at the recent national (MiSP) conference in London, headlined by Ruby Wax.
The event launched MiSP’s ‘A Million Minds Matter’ campaign, a fundraising event, with all proceeds going towards the aim of providing MiSP programmes for children and young people. The conference highlighted how school leaders can play a part in this movement, empowering children with a lifelong toolkit to deal with challenging circumstances and to enable them to flourish.
Raise helps support marginalised children and young people with complex needs. It works with all its children and young people to promote an understanding of Mindfulness, by delivering direct learning opportunities and through the embedding of a whole school approach to mindful and meditative techniques. Mindfulness forms part of Raise Education & Wellbeing School’s therapeutic curriculum, helping young people to engage more fully in their studies, the learning of skills for work and life and helping them to grow and develop, ready to fulfil their true potential in life.
Jason Steele, said: “I was delighted to be invited to speak at MiSP’s ground breaking ‘A Million Minds Matter’ campaign recently. Raise is a .b (dot b) Mindfulness organisation, which is integrated into the way we operate, helping our children, young people and staff to benefit through the embedding of a whole school approach to mindful and meditative techniques. Mindfulness is not only a practice for RTY, it’s also a way of life.”
